Autumn colours in Coniston, September 2000
Taken on a November short holiday in Coniston. I think that's the start of a mountain called Old Man Of Coniston rearing up in the background. That's a dead tree in the foreground.

The map is the location of where I took the photo, rather than were the hills are. We were driving on the A593, between Consiton and Ambleside. I think, more specifically, that it was between Skelwith Bridge and Clappersgate. Looking here towards Grasmere, I think.

I love the autumn colours of the trees and bracken here, and the layers of hills, from the bright colours in the foreground to the snow at the back.
