Peacesigns book

In the run up to the second Gulf "War" there were countless demonstrations held to protest against what millions saw as an uncalled for invasion of Iraq. During that time (early 2003) I made some political desktop wallpapers.

Some time in 2003, Jim Mann from peacesigns contacted me to say he was editing a book which was being written to collate some of the anti-war posters which had been used in the many demonstrations leading up to the war (most notably on February 15th 2003 when in over 600 cities in the world, an estimated 11 million people protested against the impending invasion of Iraq).

The result of that is that one of my wallpapers has been published in the book Jim edited, called 'Peacesigns'. I am really pleased to have got an image of mine in a book, and am very surprised too. Jim was able to kindly give each contributor a free copy of the book, and mine arrived today (Saturday February 5th 2005). In order to try to help boost sales of the book, I wanted to put a page up on my site to tell others about the book.

The book has received favourable reviews in the press, and has also won an award for the Spanish language edition.

The book can be purchased via a number of routes:

  1. amazon.com
  2. amazon.co.uk
  3. amazon.de
  4. edition-olms.com (the publisher)

Some images from the book:
