Types Of Sites
The cost of a website will depend of which kind of website you would like. The following is provided with the intention of giving you some background information about what types of sites we can do for you.
Simple design - "brochure site"
Involves the design of a website which looks nice, but which doesn't really "do" anything. By that we mean that it is much like a brochure site, with photos, text etc. but whose content does not regularly change. It'd probably have a contact form on it as well, and not a lot else...
Here are some example sites we have done along these lines:
Often the aim of doing a site like this is that the client wants the site to be up and running as soon as possible. Therefore we sometimes base the site design on free web templates which we then tweak (changing navigation / colours / images) to suit the client's requirements.
"Dynamic" design - WordPress option
The next option is for us to create you a website which is "dynamic". By that we mean a website which will allow you to keep the content fresh and up to date, with the minimum of hassle. The content for the site is stored on a web-based database, so that you can keep it up to date without having to learn about how to make websites, and all the HTML related bits and pieces.
A tool we recommend for doing this is called WordPress. It is mainly used as a blogging tool, but can also be used as a Content Management System.
It has a password protected admin section which will allow you to keep the site up to date by using a number of web-based forms. It is very easy to use, and very intuitive.
There are many "themes" which allow you to choose from a pre-written design, and then we can tweak that to suit.
There are also lots of "plugins" for WordPress, such as one that automatically creates photo galleries for you, without you having to do all the messing about. All you do is upload the files, and it does the rest.

"Dynamic" design - custom job
If Wordpress doesn't give you the options you're after, we can create you a site from scratch, which does!
This involves us finding out what you require, and writing a custom site to meet your exact requirements. They generally mean you get exactly what you want, but they cost more, as they take more work to set up.
Here are some sites we have created from scratch in that way (generally to include e-commerce options / full admininstrative control etc...):
